What is the Metaverse?
The metaverse is a 3D virtual world where users can interact with one another using avatars. It is also a portmanteau of the words “metadata” and “universe”. Some well-known examples of metaverses are Second Life and Animal Crossing. In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, Mr. Branteström said, “We want players to feel like they are living in this universe, that it’s persistent, and that their actions have consequences.” Simply put, the metaverse is a persistent online universe where users can explore, socialize, and create content for others to enjoy within the same space.
What Does Walker World Look Like?
In Walker World, players will be able to create Walkers – “3D animated, full-body, fully rigged characters.” These characters are designed for cross-platform interoperability which means players will be able to take them into other games as well! Not much else is known about the game itself except that it takes place in a science-fiction setting and seems to involve zombies (judging by the name). However, Based on what we do know – Walker World looks like it has the potential to be an immersive experience with AAA-quality graphics.
