Two blockchain blockbusters
The story of Star Atlas is not anything new to those that are on the Solana blockchain. Avid Solana followers know of the game as a next-gen metaverse created using the all new Unreal Engine 5. The project features space exploration, space colonization, NFT asset ownership and trade and vivid gameplay. News of Star Atlas is always welcome and it is one of the crown jewels of the Solana ecosystem. The game allows for Cinema-like, realistic quality imagery and visuals.
If you know metaverse you know The Sandbox. This project is constantly in swing, there are multiple worlds and games to explore and play. There is land to be purchased or sold and there are also NFTs to be acquired, traded, bought, or sold. The Sandbox is always in constant flux and their open beta test periods have seen participation in the hundreds of thousands. A subsidiary of Animoca Brands, this decentralized virtual world is filled with games, casinos, NFTs , land and more. The Sandbox is one of the catalysts for the recent upswing in interest of web3 technologies. Having already partnered with companies and celebrities such as Gucci, Adidas, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, The Smurfs, Care Bears and much more it is safe to say that The Sandbox is already well- received
Both of these companies are doing amazingly well in the web3 space and are currently planning steps to revolutionize interoperability between Ethereum and Solana for blockchain gaming. The two metaverse behemoths will first launch the “Star Atlas VoxEdit Contest”, this contest will open up for submissions this May 2 at 00:00 AM UTC and will run until May 15 23:59 UTC.
What is it?
This is a very simple yet intriguing idea. The contest will offer players a chance to act as an envoy from The Sandbox. The user is then to visit one of the three main galactic factions- the ONI, Ustur, and MUD. They will then be tasked with the job of creating a report on their findings by using the VoxEdit software of The Sandbox to create a replica of what they see. The representation will then be voted on. The voting will be done by teams on both projects and the top 4 winners will split the 50,000 of SAND, the game’s proprietary currency.
The contest already has a lot of interest built and many new names in entertainment interested in joining. Currently reknowned producer and DJ BLOND:ISH will be joining the contest, contestants are offered the opportunity to create musical headpieces for a member of the Intergalactic Star Atlas faction and the winners of that competition will be selected by the producer and Dj and rewarded with a lustrous Star Atlas Spaceship.
CEO of ATMTA Inc : Michael Wagner, spoke on how excited he was for the marriage of the two teams for this project. “We share ambitious goals with respect to our developmets within the broader metaverse , and we see this relationship as a pivitol momentto demonstrate the potential of interoperability of both game environments and the blockchain protocols.(animonicabrands.com April 27,2022). The new cooperation has the potential to be something massive as most projects are looking into creating content that can span across multiple blockchains.
