Visa, CryptoCom Partner to Launch New NFT Collection Ahead of FIFA World Cup

Visa, sponsor of the upcoming FIFA World Cup has announced a new NFT Collection ahead of the sports event.

Visa has announced a new “Masters Of Movement NFT” collection. The collection is designed to engage football fans in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Visa has enjoyed a partnership with the International Federation of Associations of Football (FIFA) since 2007.

Andrea Fairchild, senior vice president at Visa, spoke about the project

“As FIFA World Cup 2022™ approaches, we want to celebrate football, art, and technology through the lens of what makes the FIFA World Cup™ so special – wildly impassioned fans,

legendary athletes, and, for a few short weeks, the ability to bring the world together in a uniquely connected way,”

Visa Launches NFT Collection for Football Lovers

The Visa Masters of Movement will feature unique digital artworks, avatars, and other collectibles curated from FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup competitions.

The NFTs are inspired by iconic goals scored by five popular football stars – Jared Borgetti, Tim Cahill, Carli Lloyd, Michael Owen, and Maxi Rodriguez – minted into NFTs for fans across the globe.

For the mint, tokenized assets will be minted on Crypto.com and allow the creators to choose their favorite color scheme and favorite moments in football (soccer). The digital artwork will not only work as souvenirs but also as one-of-a-kind NFTs.

Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer at Crypto.com spoke on the project

“The FIFA World Cup™ is one of the most anticipated sporting events in the world, and we are incredibly excited to give fans a new way to engage with this epic event. We are thrilled to partner with Visa in bringing Visa Masters of Movement to life and offering fans the opportunity to create and collect the most unique collectibles at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ that will live forever on the blockchain,”

This is not the first Sports NFT project  by Visa. The company had earlier partnered with the U.S Olympic and Paralympic Committee to launch an NFT project in February this year. Crypto.com, on the other hand, has been very active in the NFT space lately. The firm had recently announced that it will be minting NBA Top Shot-like collectibles on its chain.

NFTs have been gaining a lot of popularity in the recent past with various celebrities and brands jumping on the bandwagon. It will be interesting to see how this new project by Visa fairs is ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
