Shopify to add NFT-gated option

Shopify will use NFTs to give users new ways to sell

NFTs have long been touted as the future of commerce depending upon the utility. online shot creation giant Shopify which allows small businesses to create their own custom shops has rolled out in NFT gated store fronts as a new feature for brands that want to make their shops even more exclusive.

holders of the tokens will be given exclusive shopping experiences limited collections and one-of-a-kind experiences offered by the sellers. The shop is called ‘gm’ shop which stands for gated merch and is a pun on the acronym of good morning used in the crypto community. The platform is currently in beta and only available to those that have existing NFT collections. Collections that are not approved or sellers that do not have approved collections are able to use NFT token-gating apps like Shopthru or Taco which can be found on the Shopify App Store.

Shopify revealed it’s already partnered with the Adam Bomb Squad,Doodles World of women, Invisible friends ,Superplastic, Stapleverse, and Cool cats with many more collections coming in the future. The platform is also announced IRL token gating and brick and mortar stores meaning this certain objects in merchandise can only be purchased at those stores if you hold the NFT.
