New Beat ’em Up Web3 Game named Blockxer Arrives With Full NFT Integration

Web3 game created by Blockhaus intends to change web3 gaming.

The beat ’em-up genre is one beloved genre with not many games in the current console or PC generation available. Back in the late 80s, 90s, and early 2000s Beat ’em ups were the way to play with popular games such as Final Fight, The Simpsons Arcade Game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Arcade Game, Streets Of Rage, X-Men The Arcade Game , and Double Dragon all dominating the arcades and homes until the rise of fighting games such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

A beat ‘em-up game involves you choosing a character that goes around a 2- 2.5D arena punching, kicking, and throwing opponents in an effort to reach the big bad at the end of the level. Games such as Streets Of Rage garnered such massive success with characters such as Axel, Blaze, and Andy all becoming household favorites.

The most recent console revival of the beat ‘em-up genre was thanks to Dotemu which has released Streets Of Rage 4 and the new TMNT game TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge

Blockhaus Inc. has created a new game on the Tezos Chain entitled Blockxer. The game is designed in the same vein as past 8 or 16-bit video games of old. Users log in using a wallet and claim a cartridge to play.

The gameplay of Blockxers is fast paced all based off of games such as Final Fight and Streets of Rage, looking at the game reminds players more of the latter.

NFTs have been thought of as the new way for players to make their time worthwhile when playing. While there are some players that are absolutely against using NFTs, the technology may very well prove to be the future of gaming as web3 continues to build.
